The DC-8, T-39, ER-2, and B757 flew a coordinated mission over the CART site in clear skies on top of a broken stratus deck, to sample the exhaust of high and low sulfur fuel mixes. The B757 was using high sulfur fuel in one wing and low sulfur fuel in the , and alternated the high and low sulfur fuels on each leg of a racetrack pattern while the DC-8 and T-39 took turns sampling its exhaust. to sample the exhaust of high and low sulfur fuel mixes and short lived s. DC-8 measurements were conducted as close as 10 miles behind the B757 to chemistry and microphysics of its exhaust plumb, and radiation from above and low. T-39 measurements concentrated on the near field 757 exhaust/contrail. The ER-2 flew an initial flight leg in the solar plane and then joined the racetrack pattern laid by B757. Two DOE aircraft, Otter and Egrett, were participating in the contrail measurements over the CART site. Measurements were coordinated with the NOAA-14 satellite overpass at 2012 UTC.
