----- POLARIS EXPERIMENT -----
* * * ER-2 NOTE * * *
Wednesday, September 24, 1997
FLIGHT INFO:
The ER-2 WILL fly back to Ames tomorrow, Thursday, 25 September.
We will not know whether the C-141 will be able to make the transit
tomorrow until it arrives at Hickam at 5pm this afternoon. Teams
will have to be prepared for the C-141 transit either Thursday
w/ the ER-2 or on Saturday. If the C-141 transits on Saturday,
it will be possible to leave your instrument on the aircraft
and there will be a minimal Lockheed crew in on Saturday for
downloading instruments. The truck shipment from Fairbanks HAS
arrived at Ames, so handling carts will be available.
We are targeting 4pm this afternoon to do the pallet weights. We
will build and weigh the last-minute pallet and will tear it
down as soon as we can get it weighed.
If we transit w/ the C-141 tomorrow, we will do the rental car
drop-off and people pickup at 8:00pm. There will be a sign-up
sheet on the notice board for rides needed tonight and back
to the hangar in the morning.
We will take cloud4 down this afternoon, so the archive will revert
to cloud1.arc.nasa.gov. The network will remain up until the C-141
departs.
