----------------------------- 7/01/99 -------------------------------- Dear AMC travelers, Here are some IMPORTANT tips and rules for your upcoming AMC travel: SCHEDULES: AMC operates on a "soft" schedule. Even though you may be given a departure time in advance, and/or you might see the departure times posted on the Kwajex web site or KMR web site, please remember that ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES WILL VARY to meet mission requirements!! You must call to confirm the take off time for the next day. KMR recommends that you call after 6pm on the night before your flight, to get the most recent schedule information. The number for the Hickam Passenger Service line in Hawaii is: 808-449-6833. The number to call for AMC flights departing from Kwajalein is 805-355-3589. There may be additional information on your travel order, so please read all the information on that's given on the order. CHECK-IN: Recommended check-in time is two hours before takeoff. If you arrive late, you might find that your seat has been given to a "standby" passenger. So, please plan to arrive early! The flights leave Hawaii from Hickam Air Force Base, which is adjacent to the Honolulu Airport. You can take a taxi from your hotel through the main gate at Hickam, to the AMC terminal. You may have to show your travel order or other ID at the gate into Hickam. FOOTWEAR: Open-toed shoes, high-heeled shoes, and sandals are not allowed on AMC flights. BAGGAGE LIMITATIONS: Two checked-in bags per person are allowed. Maximum weight for each checked-in bag is 70 lbs. Carry-on baggage is limited to ONE item no larger than 19x13x12 inches. ENTRY FORM and TRAVEL ORDER: An approved Entry Authorization Form and travel orders are required for AMC flights. You must have BOTH of these items with you when you travel on AMC to Kwajalein.
