Dear TRMM/Kwajex participants:
Good news - we now have confirmed travel reservations between Honolulu
and Kwajalein for almost everyone who will be traveling to Kwajalein
for TRMM/Kwajex. Thanks to all for complying with our requests to make
your reservations early!
Please read the entire message below, as it contains important
information on the paperwork that you will need to take with you to
Kwajalein, and also a change in the process for communicating travel
information to us, which is effective immediately.
The final Entry Authorization Forms for all those traveling to
Kwajalein during July have been submitted to KMR for approval. An
approved form will be sent to you by fax, prior to your departure.
Kwajex travelers who are receiving travel support from the Raytheon
travel office will receive their approved Entry Authorization Forms
(and orders if applicable) along with their airline tickets, from
Raytheon.
IMPORTANT: YOU MUST HAVE A COPY OF YOUR APPROVED ENTRY AUTHORIZATION
FORM WITH YOU WHEN YOU TRAVEL. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO BOARD
THE FLIGHT FOR KWAJALEIN WITHOUT THE APPROVED FORM. FOR THOSE
TRAVELING ON AMC, YOU MUST ALSO HAVE A SET OF TRAVEL
ORDERS. BOTH OF THESE ITEMS WILL BE SENT TO YOU PRIOR TO YOUR
TRAVEL. WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU MAKE SIX COPIES OF YOUR APPROVED ENTRY
AUTHORIZATION (AND TRAVEL ORDERS FOR AMC TRAVELERS) TO TAKE WITH YOU ON
THE TRIP. THOSE TRAVELING ON CONTINENTAL DO NOT NEED ORDERS, ONLY THE
APPROVED ENTRY AUTHORIZATION FORM.
The final Entry Authorization forms for August will be submitted to KMR
during the first week in July, and those for September will be
submitted during the first week in August. With almost all of the
flight reservations in place, we are hoping for minimal changes in
travel dates from now on. If you have provided us with your travel
dates, which most of you have by now, a final Entry Authorization Form
has been (or will be) automatically submitted for you.
The Kwajex Web page roster has just been updated to include the most
recent information on travel and Entry Authorization status. Please
check the roster; if there are changes to what's posted, it is
important that you notify us immediately. The Entry Authorizations must
be for the EXACT dates of your travel. New dates (even minor changes)
mean a change to the Entry Authorization Form. KMR has advised us to
allow 21 days for processing of Entry Authorization Approvals. (For
emergency situations, a faster turnaround time may be possible - but
only for emergencies.)
From now on, ALL information regarding changes to travel dates should
be sent to the NASA Ames Project Office at:
kwajtravel@cloud1.arc.nasa.gov. This is a change from our previous
process in which information was sent to Carl Sweetland and Wendy
Dolci. Once we receive notification of the change we will update our
database and send in a new form for you if necessary.
