Tips to ensure smooth delivery of your package:
1) Notify Naomi of shipment per instructions below prior to arrival of your package.
2) Provide carrier and tracking number for all shipments.

The drivers all trucks coming to GFAFB need the following information:
1. Call the numbers below (in the order listed until you talk with someone) 1 day in advance to notify NSERC you will be arriving.
2. When the Driver is ~ 20 minutes from GFAFB call the numbers below again to announce arrival.
3. Proceed to the south gate of GFAFB ~ 13 miles from Grand Forks on Highway 2.
4. NSERC personnel will meet the truck at the gate, vouch the driver on to the base, escort the truck to the flightline and on to the hangar for unloading. A forklift capable of unloading larger boxes is available in the hangar.

GFAFB Badging Procedure

From Grand Forks, drive west on Highway 2, about 15 miles to GFAFB. Drive past the exit for the Main Gate about a quarter of a mile and turn right into the South Gate. The entrance bears to the right around the Security Building, pull up to the gate and wait in your car for an Air Force Security person to come out of the door on your left.

Tell him you are with the NASA-INTEX-B Project on the DC-8. He will open the gate and direct you to the parking lot beyond it. There is a Visitors and Vendors door around on the right side of the building, go in there and then in the door on your right to the Office.

They will need a picture ID (Drivers License or Passport ) and car rental agreement and proof of insurance if applicable. They will make you another picture ID which you must display at all times.

If you are a US citizen you can drive on down Eielson St., past the big water tower to the first driveway on your left (labeled on the east/right side as Tuskegee Airman Blvd) into the NSERC Parking Lot (See GFAFB Map). Pick up the Shuttle bus which will take you right to the door of Hangar 601. See the NSERC Shuttle Service Information Sheet for the schedule.

If you are a Foreign National, you must wait at the Security Office for the Shuttle Bus to pick you up and take you directly to the Hangar at the times scheduled. See the NSERC Shuttle Bus Information Sheet for the schedule.

The Security Office is NOT open on the weekendsyou must go to the Main Gate and call the DC-8 Maintenance Office (701-594-3355) or Donny Bailes cell (701-330-5304) to send someone to come and vouch for you. You will be given a Temporary Pass good only for that weekend. You must then return to the South Gate Security Office on the next business day to get a picture badge. This procedure is the same for Foreign Nationals.
