WB-57F flight report_020721 


1.  The WB-57F flew another highly successful flight, with all instruments collecting data 
during (a) long-duration sampling throughout the life-cycle of a cumulus system, done in 
concert with a number of our other aircraft; (b) cross-track anvil sampling, done in close 
coordination with the Citation; and (c) a vertical profile between 58 and 40 kft.


2.  The plane took off at 2:02 pm EDT, and returned to base at 7:43 pm EDT.


3.  The aircraft experienced two mechanical problems during the flight.  Thanks to some very 
quick-reaction and timely support by Ellington Field operations personnel, replacement parts 
were delivered to Key West on Monday, and the repairs were completed in time for a Tuesday 
flight opportunity.
